Sally: I know of none in the UK, sorry.

Abid Ali: this is all the information I have. Our contact at UNESCO is Jean-Claude Dauphin ; he may know of more.

Sjaeful Afandi: The cost depends on the workshop. Some are free; some charge a nominal amount; for some UNESCO sponsorship is possible.

Shantany Ganguly: That’s great news. Thanks for this info!

    Hi
I want to present a workshop of greenstone in our country
meanwhile it`s the first workshop that I want to present,
do you have any powerpoint files of previous workshops?
    if so please send me.
    Best regards…

  7. Ian Witten Says:

Azad, we put our workshop material online; the latest workshop is up on the greenstone wiki at
    http://greenstonewiki.cs.waikato.ac.nz/wiki/index.php/Four_day_course_2007

(The material changes slightly from workshop to workshop. For space reasons we only keep the material from the last workshop or two, but we retain the schedule from earlier workshops in case its useful.)

  8. Ian Witten Says:

I have just heard from M.G. Sreekumar that many organizations offer programmes on Greenstone in India, for example TERI, SALIS, NCSI, DELNET, IIMK, University of Mysore/Pune/Andhra University. IIMK is offering a 6-day workshop during November 2007: details are at http://www.iimk.ac.in/FDPBrochures/WGDLNov26.htm.

  9. Chedza Molefe Says:

We are seriously considering the use of Greenstone for Archives Material at the AU Commission. I have been testing the system. I believe it would be a wonderful opportunity if I can attend a training workshop for it. I noted that you listed one such workshop for Namibia.

I tried to contact John Rose, however, I have not received a response. I just want to know if it is possible for us to attend the workshop as well. We are based in Addis Ababa- East Africa. If this is possible, how else can we get more information on this?

    Thank you

Dear John Rose, I am a librarian at Kenya Medical Research Institute. I would like to attend the following greenstone workshop if possible. 1-5 Oct 2007 University of Namibia: 5-day course (contact John Rose, john.rose1 [at] free.fr).
I wish to let you know that there has been no training on Greenstone in Kenya and this would help me train others. I have been trying it with WINISIS using the manuals but i think i’m not getting good results. Kindly let me know if its possible to attend the Namimbia Workshop.
    Thank you

  12. Rumbidzayi Says:

    Hello

I am from Zimbabwe and would like to know when the workshop in Zimbabwe will take place. You mentioned on the wiki that you would be coming to Zimbabwe. Or are we supposed to attend the one in Namibia?

  13. Rumbidzayi Says:

I am responsible for implementing automation projects in the library at Africa University and we are looking to digigtising our current as all of our future collections.

  14. Ian Witten Says:

I believe there may be a regional workshop in Zimbabwe (Bulawayo?) in the not too distant future. If you have funds to attend the workshop in Namibia, that may be possible: you should contact John Rose (john.rose1 [at] free.fr). He should also be able to keep you up to date with the Zimbabwe workshop plans.
