Murder of a European by a Maori
Describes the murder of a worker called Edward Packer by a Maori, Winiata. States that he is thought to have fled to Te Kūiti, and the Ngāti Kahungunu people have written to the Maori King asking him not to give Winiata shelter because of their knowledge of his bad character.
