Petition from Karaipi Te Puke, 2 companions and all the tribal groups of Ngāti Kiopiri, concerning land surrounding Waiwiri, Ōtaki and Wellington that was not correctly surveyed, and asking that it be investigated. Reports that the Committee has no jurisdiction.
Petition from Te Moananui and 140 companions, concerning mining rights and the Government's lease, stray Pakeha cattle on Maori land and disagreement over a land survey. Reports the Committee's reply that the Government is paying a fair rent for the mining rights, and states that it has no jurisdiction over the matter of the cattle.
Petition from Meihana Taipū and 10 companions, concerning a Crown grant at Porirua issued to Mr. Ellison to satisfy his claim to a pre-1840 land purchase. Contains details of the land purchase.
