Report of a meeting held at Ōruanui in September. States the reasons for the meeting were: a kaihaukai [feast to express authority and control over an area or resource]; Tūwharetoa committee business; meeting with Whatahoro and the Tūwharetoa chiefs to discuss Waitara; their subsequent petition signed by 800 Tūwharetoa people. Gives details for the business discussed by the Tūwharetoa committee which included: support for the Prime Minister and his Government; Maori issues at Taupō to be discussed with the Prime Minister; the new Maori land legislation. Concludes with a summation of the committee's business by Te Heuheu, and details of the kaihaukai with their guests, Ngāi Te Rangi.
