India is a multilingual, multicultural, secular and democratic country. India has about 18 official languages and 10 scripts. Medium of instruction for higher education is English but lot of gray literature is available in native language. An effort is made here to create user interface for Greenstone Digital Library Software in Indian national language, Hindi and four South Indian languages: Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu. A few sample collections are also built for all the five languages.

A music manuscript created around 1850 by the famous Greek composer Nikolaos Halikiopoulos Mantzaros. One version was dedicated to Victoria I, Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, possibly in 1856, and belongs to the Manuscript Collection of British Library (London). The collection contains the "partimenti" that can be found in Books V. and VI. in F. Fenaroli's "Partimenti ossia basso numerato". The manuscript is one of the most important samples of Greek music heritage.
This collection of sheet music consists of over 500 pieces of 19th and 20th century sheet music published between 1799 and 1922. Song themes cover early 19th century plantation life in the American South, the Civil War period, including abolitionism, emancipation and Reconstruction, early 20th century popular music, and the stereotypical themes associated with black face minstrels.
This project, led jointly by Utah Valley University (UVU) and the Polytechnic of Namibia operating in conjunction with the Namibian National Archive, aims to develop and make available worldwide a rich digital resource that reflects the diversity of voices and cultural stories of Namibian people. The collections are being expanded to include oral histories of indigenous peoples and freedom fighters, images of independence and of the colonial period, documents of transition, and other artifacts. This ever-growing collection comprises over 2,000 digitized photographic images from Freedom House, a civic center based in the Roxbury neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts (USA). The images document early activities to create an integrated Roxbury, to encourage citizen participation in the urban renewal of Roxbury, and to oversee Boston Public Schools desegregation. The project was partially funded with Federal assistance from the Institute of Museum and Library Services, administered by the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners. It was created and published by the Northeastern University Libraries.

Integration of Koha and Greenstone to enable fulltext searching in Koha. Using Koha, an open source library automation software, 4 different collections are created: 1. Records from a big library (about 120,000 records) 2. Records from a medium size library (about 20,000 records) 3. A few multilingual records downloaded from the Net and 4. About 15 e-books downloaded from the Net, which do not violate copyright law. As Koha does not support fulltext indexing and searching, it is integrated with Greenstone Digital Library Software for full text searching. The fulltext documents are indexed both in Koha and Greenstone. For searching the fulltext documents a SRU request is passed from Koha to Greenstone. This is the first implementation of Greenstone-Koha integration implemented in 2009 January and a workshop was conducted in July 2009.

The Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (http://www.iimk.ac.in) is a premier management school set up by the Government of India during 1996. The Center for Development of Digital Libraries of IIMK uses GSDL software for its DL collection development. The DL at IIMK is truly a multi-media, multi-publication type and multi-format library with books, monographs, reports, journals, cases and educational videos forming part of its growing collection. The videos collection is a recent addition which used only open source software and open standards for its entire workflow.
Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore - 560012, Karnataka, India is a premier institution of advanced research and teaching, with more than 2000 active researchers working in almost all frontier areas of science and technology. Started in 1909 by J.N.Tata, the Institute publishes about 2,000 publications including journal articles, conference publications, patents, reports, books, book chapters every year, according to this study. An effort is made here to compile these publications from several identified sources, remove duplicate records, standardise the metadata details. The database is web enabled using Greenstone.

Manioc is a digital library developed by the University of the Antilles and Guyane (http://www.univ-ag.fr), specializing in the Caribbean, the Amazon and the Guyana Plateau. The collection contains thousands of documents: digitized texts (historical works and documents emanating from university research projects), as well as audio, video and pictural records relating to cultural, social, economic and political developments. Manioc benefits from several private and public partnerships and is an open access initiative accessible through OAI-PMH harvesting (the base address is http://www.manioc.org/gsdl/cgi-bin/oaiserver).
The Marshall Papers project has published five volumes since 1977 from the voluminous manuscript collection of George C. Marshall's papers held at the Marshall Foundation's Archive in Lexington, Virginia. The published volumes span the years 1900 to 1946 and comprise some 3,000 pages; these letters, telegrams, memos, reports, and speeches include exchanges with a virtual Who's Who in war and diplomacy for the period covered.

The MOST Digital Library contains results from research carried out during the first ten years of the MOST Programme. The themes covered include Drugs, Globalization and Governance, International Migration, Multicultural Societies, Poverty Eradication, Social transformations, Sustainability, Urban Development and HIV/AIDS. The MOST digital library offers a brief abstract of each document (in English, French and Spanish) that identifies the key issues and arguments in a few lines. This digital collection draws together several types of primary materials concerned with aboriginal land rights in British Columbia, Canada. The testimonies database contains the hearings of the McKenna McBride Royal Commission (1913-1916). Additional historical records, including maps, documents, newspaper articles, photographs, audio and video clips showing the continual assertion of aboriginal title and rights are available here. The testimonies database will continue to be developed over the coming years to incorporate more audio, video, cartographic and photographic material.

This includes publications from the participating Ministries of Education including strategic plans, education legislation, curriculum frameworks and school policies. It also contains national development plans, statistics and budget information for the fifteen Pacific countries. PADDLE also includes material from international and regional organisations including UNESCO, the Commonwealth Secretariat, the Commonwealth of Learning, Pacific Resources for Education and Learning (PREL), and the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat. The Black Abolitionist Archive is a collection of documents created by antebellum blacks. In contrast to the popular belief that the abolitionist crusade was driven by wealthy whites, these important documents provide a portrait of black involvement in the anti-slavery movement. The collection was donated to the University of Detroit Mercy by Dr. C. Peter Ripley in 1998. The paper collection is maintained by Dr. Roy E. Finkenbine who teaches in the UDM History Department. The digital archive is being developed and maintained by the UDM Libraries / IDS.
This project presents information about significant buildings, landscapes, campus plans, and heritage sites of American higher education and identifies sources for further research. Supported by grants from the Getty Foundation, the CIC HCAP website documents nearly 2,000 places of historical significance on private college and university campuses and includes more than 4,300 images relating to these sites. To date, nearly 370 institutions have participated. On this site, web users can find institutions or places in a particular state or region; seek information about a specific type of architecture, designer, or time period; or gather data for future research.
The Cushing/Whitney Medical Digital Library is a growing collection of digital resources made available on the Web for scholarship. The Medical Digital Library Committee coordinates the library's digitization activities. Its goals include expanding access to the library's unique collections for scholarly research, and life-cycle management of digital objects. Nine of the collections, mainly presenting images of historical importance, make use of Greenstone. One of these consists of 83 mid-19th century oil paintings rendered by Western-trained artist Lam Qua of Chinese patients with tumors under the care of Yale-trained medical missionary Peter Parker.

The Writing University Archive is a repository for digital humanities collections at the University of Iowa. The archive contains collections from the International Writing Program and the Iowa Writers' Workshop. The Writing University Archive is a collaboration between the writing programs and the School of Library and Information Science at The University of Iowa. You will be able to search the multimedia recordings that have been digitized and read the detailed catalog entries annotating their content. You will also be able to listen to recordings and view video if you have the appropriate players.
This is a continuing project to show the feasibility of using Greenstone to handle digital library collections in traditional Mongolian script, an important cultural heritage for which computerized treatment lagged after the adoption of Cyrillic script by Mongolia in 1946. Recent improvements to the collection involve font format (OTF), font embedding and displaying. The collection contains some very old historical chronicles and is expected to be enriched in the near future.

Integran el repositorio seis colecciones: Tesis y Trabajos Finales seleccionados por cada Facultad, Revistas y Documentos de Investigación con el aporte de docentes e investigadores de las distintas Facultades, Ponencias presentadas en jornadas organizadas por la Universidad, Libros, editados por la Universidad o por editoriales externas y Contribuciones, colección que aporta material diverso de docentes de nuestra Universidad. La Biblioteca Digital adhiere a la filosofía del acceso abierto a la literatura científica, permitiendo descargar, distribuir, copiar e imprimir su material sin restricciones, asegurando así el cumplimiento de dos objetivos fundamentales:
- Acceso irrestricto a la información, sin barreras económicas, legales o técnicas
- Aumento de visibilidad e impacto de la institución y de sus investigadores
