グリーンストーンはオープンソース・ソフトであり、協力のためにコミュニティのデベロッパーを募集しています。新規のデベロッパーはregisterでなければならず、developers' guideをチェックアウトしなければなりません。

協力者は自己のオンラインの開発ツールを使用ください。それらはdevelopers' mailing list the trac source code browser, the trac bug database, そしてブログの technical categoryなどが含まれます。

グリーンストーンのソース・コードは subversion repositoryのバージョン制御のもとに置かれています。

DocumentEditing had broken with an error loading the dbdriver in DBDrivers. I thought this was because DBDrivers wasn't in the perl INC path. But infodbtype wasn't set in modmetadataaction inherited from baseaction when it read in the colcfg file, as now since revision 42088, the inexport::read_collection_cfg (not the colcfgxml::read_collection_cfg, which works as before I think) no longer returns a list of objects (config_filename and collect_cfg) but just the colcfg data object. This was very hard to debug, especially since putting the code back or checking out an older version of greenstone before compiling with ant install no longer worked, as at some point some java files had different (new tomcat related) import statements that always broke compilation.
